We are pleased to announce that Roboplast has completed the process of complying with Regulation (EU) 1616/202 on recycled plastic materials and articles intended to come into contact with foods
The new Regulation (EU) 2022/1616, published on September 20, 2022 and entered into force on October 10, 2022, repeals the old Regulation (EC) 282/2008. The Regulation lays down the rules for:
- the sale of plastic materials and articles manufactured with a suitable recycling technology from waste* plastic that are intended to be or can be reasonably expected to come into contact with food;
- the development and operation of recycling technologies, processes and installations to produce that recycled plastic;
- the use of plastic materials and articles in contact with food which have been, or are intended to be, recycled.
Roboplast, which has always been attentive to issues of product sustainability and healthfulness, saw the implementation of the Regulations as an opportunity to create a production chain that is more controlled, efficient and attentive to the health of the end consumer.
